Key Responsibilities
· Plan receiving of Inbound and processing of Outbound orders based on the agreed KPI’s with the clients and customers.
· Ensure the staff prepares the necessary documentation for timely dispatch of the orders as per the agreed KPI’s.
· Organise and arrange for the appropriate supply of Consumables through Purchasing department. Ensure that outbound shipments are packed as per destination / customer specifications and that necessary; certifications and labels are attached to enable timely delivery of goods to the customer.
· Maintain the yard/ warehouse effectively, plan the space appropriately and store cargo neatly (as per customer requirements) thereby enabling quick retrievals when required.
· Monitor regular stock / cycle checks as required and resolve discrepancies to achieve stock accuracy. Adhere to special commodity handling instructions for DGR shipments and maintain good housekeeping standards at all times, taking quick corrective actions when required.
· Effectively organize and allocate manpower and equipments to ensure orders are expedited as per priorities, that resources are allocated for optimum utilization; suggest and implement processes to improve warehouse effectiveness.
· Ensure that the department is staffed with requisite numbers and calibre of staff to meet its objective (as per guidelines provided by Effective Operations Department), their performance is appraised, they are developed, motivated and encouraged to maximize their capabilities, productivity and contributions.
· Record and report all discrepancies, services rendered and costs thereby preventing liabilities to the organisation, minimising losses and maximising revenues for the warehouse. Prepare and provide necessary reports as required by the management.
· Suggest improvements in the processes and systems towards effective warehouse operations of storing and picking by liaising with the Process team, thereby reducing retrieval time and enabling timely order processing with minimum errors.
· Liaise with the customer (where applicable), operations, CCD, forwarders, and others on the status of shipments and constantly keep the customer updated on the progress thereby enabling quick resolution of bottlenecks and smooth operations.
· Conduct daily PD session at the beginning of each shift and address any issues faced by the team and raise any concerns with the Line Manager.
· Coordinate with facility team for all maintenance requirements.
· Ensure that all MHE’s are in working condition and monitor the MHE log-book.
· Ensure that all Incidents in the warehouse are reported to the HSE team within 24 hours after carrying out thorough investigation.
Job Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
· DG certification (as applicable)
· Basic knowledge of computer, warehouse set up (diff types of racking systems and others) and MHE {i.e. Material handling equipment (types of equipment, optimal usage and others)}
· Proficient in warehouse management system, customs clearance and documentation procedures
· Negotiation Skills
· Leadership Skills
· Effective People Management
· Graduate (in any discipline)
· 5 - 6 years’ experience in warehousing & distribution operations.
